Where I'm From Writings/Notes

It was the summer after junior year of high school. I went over to my friend’s house to swim because it was hot outside, and his pool is about 6 ft deep. We were messing around diving and doing flips making sure to dive shallow because the pool wasn’t that deep. I was comfortable because I could flip and dive into the pool okay, but I started to fuck around and told my friend “Watch this dive” and dove in head first with no hands. I then scraped my nose on the floor of the pool and while trying to play it off my friend looked at me and told me I was bleeding from the nose. I didn’t go to the hospital, but we patched it up and it the healing process really hurt.

Scar story to doctor:

I got this scar on my nose during the summer after my junior year of high school. While going over to a friend’s house to swim, I dove into the pool and scraped my head along the floor. I felt a lot of pain right away, however in an attempt to play it off, I returned to the surface as if nothing had happened. Immediately after my friend had pointed out to me that my face had been bleeding really bad. The skin and tissue at the point of where my nose connects to my brow had been scraped clean off. His parents helped me to sanitize and patch the wound after with alcohol and bandages. That really burned. The wound did not hurt by the end of the day however for the next day and following week, there was a constant sharp pain in the center of my face. I was told the tissue there was mostly cartilage so as it healed it would hurt a little. However, after about 2 or 3 weeks, the wound had scabbed over and scarred, and the pain had gone away. I now have a subconscious fear of diving into pools after this situation. The scar is now barely visible however every now and then people will point it out to me asking what the mark is.
